Gran Turismo 5 — компьютерная игра, автосимулятор, разрабатываемая командой Polyphony Digital под руководством Кадзунори Ямаути эксклюзивно для игровой консоли Sony PlayStation 3. «Gran Turismo 5» является пятой частью культовой серии игр Gran Turismo. Компания Sony определилась с окончательной датой релиза пятой части гоночного сериала Gran Turismo. Новая игра для консоли PlayStation 3 поступит в продажу на территории Северной Америки 2 ноября 2010 года. Об этом было объявлено в ходе пресс-конференции, приуроченной к старту выставки E3. Дата выхода Gran Turismo 5 в других регионах пока не уточняется. Выход этой игры неоднократно откладывался. Планировалось, что жители Японии смогут приобрести GT5 уже в марте 2010 года. Однако релиз перенесли на неопределенный срок, так как разработчики столкнулись с некими техническими трудностями. За создание новой гоночной игры отвечает студия Polyphony Digital. Официальный анонс Gran Turismo 5 состоялся еще в 2006 году. В 2008 году за пределами Японии вышла игра Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. Она представляет собой расширенную демо-версию полноценной пятой части сериала.

Ранее президент Polyphony Digital Кадзунори Ямаути заявил, что на разработку Gran Turismo 5 было потрачено около 60 миллионов долларов. Он также сообщил, что его студия уже планирует выпустить шестую часть сериала. При этом он подчеркнул, что на ее разработку уйдет гораздо меньше времени, чем на создание GT5.
