В 1927 году к команде приходит первый успех, когда она становится победителем весеннего первенства города. 1954 год был одним из лучших в истории команды тех лет. В 1970 году была создана первая лига чемпионата СССР и, естественно, что в нее был включен и «Днепр». А в 1971 году команда завоевывает путевку в «высший свет», заняв первое место. Что же касается периода после распада СССР в высшей лиге чемпионата Украины, то «Днепр», также находится среди ведущих клубов.
